Environmental Award

This award is designed to encourage all parks to implement an environmental initiative, whether big or small.

The award will be presented to a park owner/operator that has implemented an initiative within their business within the last two years which has had a significant positive impact on their business, their guests or their local community and, most importantly, the environment.  This could be a new product, service or procedure.

Finalists nominations will be used to highlight how these initiatives can provide benefit to the business as well as the environment.

Criteria used to determine the winner of this award include:

  • Positive environmental impact
  • Return on Investment (RoI) and/or Return on Effort (RoE)
  • Benefit to the business and/or guests and/or the local community
  • Buy in by employees and/or contractors and/or guest
  • Customer and/or stakeholder feedback

Nominations can be made by the business that has been turned around, industry suppliers or other individuals within the sector that know the nominated business well.

Ensure the nomination includes:

  • A description of the Environmental initiative
  • The reason the initiative was implemented and the challenge it addressed
  • Any challenges faced with the implementation of the initiative
  • Cost of the initiative
  • Results of the initiative (i.e. improvements in key metrics, customer feedback, staff or contractor engagement)
  • Photos showcasing the initiative
  • How this initiative could assist other businesses
  • A current photo of the business or a copy of the business’ logo
