About Caravan Parks Association of Queensland

Caravan Parks Association of Queensland Ltd (CPAQ) is the peak industry body representing caravan parks in Queensland. Established in 1966, we provide a united and informed voice for the Queensland caravan parks industry.

As a professional, solution focused association, we encourage and support industry best practice across all areas of business by providing our members with leadership, support, networking, professional development, and promotional opportunities.

There are currently over 445 full and associate members of CPAQ, made up of caravan parks (catering for tourists and residents) and campgrounds, large and small, from all corners of the State, industry suppliers, tourism businesses, plus regional and local tourism organisations.

We seek to work with both state and local governments to balance the needs of the consumer with those of the Government and industry. Further we actively strive to ensure not only that minimum standards within parks are met, but that over time these industry standards are in fact driven higher.

 

Caravanning Queensland

We trade under the brand Caravanning Queensland which joins the two related but separate peak industry bodies in Queensland, providing a clear united voice for the sector:

  • Caravan Parks Association of Queensland (CPAQ) the voice of the caravan park owners and operators and the associated supply chain in Queensland.
  • Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Queensland (CTIAQ) the voice of the trade sector in the caravan and camping industry in Queensland with a membership made up predominantly of retailers, manufacturers, hirers, repairers, and suppliers in the caravan and camping industries.

CPAQ has a small staff which undertake the day to day operations of the organisation.

CPAQ Board

The CPAQ Board contribute to CPAQ’s strategic goals and objectives though active participation in board meetings, and sharing industry knowledge with a forward looking outlook in accordance with the CPAQ Constitution.

The Board of CPAQ comprises of Division Delegates elected by their division. These Delegates are elected by their division and endorsed at the CPAQ Annual General Meeting. The Division Delegate can also hold the position of Division President or Division Vice-President. The Board elect the Association’s President, Vice-President and Treasurer from within their ranks

CPAQ Division Office Bearers

Each CPAQ Division has a Division Committee, comprising of a Division President, Vice President, Delegate, and Secretary.

The role of this Committee is to ensure the smooth running of Division activities such as meetings and get togethers, and to assist the CPAQ office in collecting industry intelligence and identifying emerging trends.

Each year (around July) caravan park owners and operators can volunteer for a position on their local Division Committee. If there are multiple volunteers for a single role a vote may be held to select the successful candidate for the role.
