Outback Caravan Parks
Queensland is famous for its incredible Outback region. Wide open spaces, its iconic red dirt landscape and a range of amazing events make it a bucket list location for many visitors.
Home to amazing gorges, dinosaur trails, the natural sciences loop, the Qantas Founders museum and the Big Red Bash there is something in this region for every traveller.
The Outback has well maintained highways and roads (mostly sealed) that connect the towns, making travelling through the region easier than you may think. You will find you are never far from a cold drink and a friendly face while on the road in Outback Queensland.
If you are considering taking the 4WD on the road less travelled, take an alternative route between towns and follow the nature tracks and little used back roads to explore this remarkable part of Australia.
Please be mindful when travelling in Outback Queensland as it is different to driving elsewhere – road hazards such as livestock, long distances, flat terrain and road trains can take a little getting used to. Check out our blog with tips and hints for Driving in the Outback
There are plenty of caravan parks dotted right across the Outback with a range of accommodation options and facilities available for guests. The staff at these caravan parks can also give you plenty of ideas of things to see and do in their region and information on road conditions where you are heading.
