FREE CARAVAN SAFETY CHECKS – POSTPONEMENT
The Free Caravan Safety Check Program organised by the Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Queensland in conjunction with the Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads has had to be postponed indefinitely given the current health warnings in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19).
It is the Association’s intention to re-introduce this Road Safety initiative as soon as we are able however this is clearly unlikely to be in the near future.
This applies to all scheduled locations throughout the State of Queensland.
When the program can be safely reinstated a new schedule of locations and dates will be published on this website and the Caravanning Queensland Facebook page.
We apologise to those caravan & recreational vehicle owners who had hoped to participate in this year’s planned program and again thank the Queensland Government and particularly The Minister, Hon Mark Bailey MP, for continued support.
Caravanning Queensland provides a Free Caravan Safety Check Program to owners of Caravans, Motorhomes and other recreational vehicles.
The free program is an initiative of the official Queensland caravan industry body – Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Queensland (Caravanning Queensland), – organised in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
The event has been designed to increase driver understanding of the challenges they may face whilst travelling on the roads, and to ensure they are better equipped to avoid accidents. The program also features towing equipment and other safety accessory displays, which attendees can inspect and discuss with experts on the day.*
The program is a safe zone for all who attend – no fines or breaches will be issued. It is purely an educational activity with the ultimate aim of ensuring that you are travelling safe and compliant.
How to Book – no bookings available at this time
Important – all communication for this activity is via email and SMS message, so ensure that you type your correct email address and mobile phone number.
Click on your preferred date and location to complete the online booking form.
You will be contacted by email and SMS approximately 4 weeks prior asking you to confirm that you still want to participate. If we have not received your reply confirmation within 3 days of contact then your booking will be automatically cancelled.
You will receive your confirmed booking time and booking number approximately 1-2 weeks after your have confirmed your participation.
If the location that you are interested in is showing as ‘Booked Out’ then you may click on the link for the STANDBY LIST. This will enable your details to be held and if a spot becomes available we will then contact you.
Bookings for dates and locations in the 1st half of 2020 are now open. Others will open later.
