How far away is the Brisbane Showgrounds from the Brisbane CBD?

The Brisbane Showgrounds is located just 1.5km from the city’s CBD in Bowen Hills.

It’s bordered by Bowen Bridge Road, O’Connell Terrace, Brookes Street and St Paul’s Terrace.

It’s also in walking distance of Fortitude Valley, which boasts some of the best boutique shopping in Brisbane along with a diverse range of entertainment options.

Public transport is easily accessible and Brisbane’s Domestic and International Airports are just a quick 15 minute taxi ride away.

What are the opening hours?

Wednesday – Sunday: 9:30am to 6:00pm 

Monday: 9:30am to 4:00pm.

Will the tickets be available for purchase at the gate?

Yes, tickets will be sold at the gate each day. Cash or Card payment are available at all entrances.

Concession will need to show their valid Concession ID upon request.

Parking Options?

Parking is available:

  • Victoria Park, enter from Gilchrist Avenue, Herston. Carpark entry is located just after the fenced off construction site on the left.  Around 600 parks available dependant on weather. $10 per vehicle, per day. Payment is via CARD ONLY at entry. Click Here to view map if unsure of location.
  • Secure Park Valley Metro is a multi-level carpark, a short 5min walk, via Costin Street, to the showgrounds.  Enter the carpark from Alfred Street.  They offer a pre-payment, pre-booking service using Secure-A-Spot located on their website
  • King Street (Upper Level) is a multi-level carpark with over 380 spaces including 8 disability bays. 2.2m max height. $TBA per vehicle per day.
  • Pavillion Carpark (Upper Level) is a multi-level carpark entry via Gate 5 (Just before Bowen Park) on O’Connell Terrace. $TBA per vehicle per day.

There is no facilities for Caravans or Large Motorhome parking.

What’s the advantage of pre-purchasing tickets online?

If you’re thinking of taking public transport to the show, then purchasing your tickets online will allow you to travel FREE to the show on any Queensland Rail Network. Not only will you save money, you’ll also avoid long queue as “pre-paid” line moves considerably faster than the general line where each visitor needs to buy a ticket.

Can I use public transport to get to the Show?


The nearest Busway station is at Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital.

Will there be food and drinks available for purchase?

There are food outlets placed throughout the venue. We have a range of food outlets including:

  • Café
  • Fast Food
  • European Food
  • Asian Food
  • Wraps and sandwiches are available on the lower level of the Royal I.C.C Building
  • Chips, Burgers, Dagwood dogs are available at multiply locations including Ekka Plaza and Sideshow next to the large marquee. 
  • Multiply coffee and tea are located around the precinct including Sideshow Alley, Ekka Plaza, Gregory Terrace and both levels of the Royal I.C.C Building. 
  • Food Trucks will be located under Building 8 and Sideshow

More food options will be listed as they are booked in.

Will there be ATMs onsite??

There will be multiply ATM facilities situated around the showground.

  • One is located on the lower level of the RICC Building near the elevators.
  • One is located next to oval 2
  • One is located on Gregory Terrace.

Most food outlets will have ATM facilities available.

What’s the best place to book accommodation at?

There are plenty of other hotels, motels and rooms available in the surrounding suburbs that are reasonably priced and within a short distance to the showgrounds.  A good place to start is our own Accommodation Guide.

How can I obtain a copy of the Visitor Guide?

The Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow Visitor Guides will be distributed at each entrance gate and will provided to each visitor upon entry.

Are there disabled facilities at the venue?

There is a limited parking available for the disabled. Just show your disability sticker to the security staff and they will guide you to your spot. Most areas of the show are at ground level which allows for easy access for visitors who have wheelchairs etc. For upper level exhibits, there is lift access in the (Royal ICC) building. 

Other areas will have ramp access or a lift nearby.

Wheelchair hire is also available at the Information stand located on the lower level of the Royal ICC building.

Do you have Parcel Pick up for heavy items purchased at the show?

Yes we do. Parcel Pick ups are located at on the corner of Machinery and Alexandria Street

Are pets allowed at the Supershow?

No dogs or other animals are allowed within the event (excepting registered guide, hearing or assistance dogs).

Is the event still on if it rains?

Yes. We are on rain, hail or shine. The event is on irrespective of the weather. If you are concern about the weather, we advise bringing an umbrella. There are many areas of the Supershow which are undercovered or inside buildings.
