Let’s celebrate the those initiatives that support the Environment whilst also providing positive business outcomes.

2019 Environmental Award winners, Cape Hillsborough Nature Tourist Park (Ben & Renae Atherton) with Darren Beck

This award is designed to encourage all parks to implement an environmental initiative, whether big or small.

The award will be presented to a park owner/operator that has implemented an initiative within their business within the last two years which has had a significant positive impact on their business, their guests or their local community and, most importantly, the environment.

This could be a new product, service, procedure or some other environmental initiative..

Finalists nominations will be used to highlight how these initiatives can provide benefit to the business as well as the environment.

Award Criteria

Criteria used to determine the winner of this award include:

  • Positive environmental impact
  • Return on Investment (RoI) and/or Return on Effort (RoE)
  • Benefit to the business and/or guests and/or the local community
  • Buy in by employees and/or contractors and/or guest
  • Customer and/or stakeholder feedback

 

Your Nomination

Please ensure your nomination includes:

  • A description of the Environmental initiative
  • The reason the initiative was implemented and the challenge it addressed
  • Any challenges faced with the implementation of the initiative
  • Cost of the initiative
  • Results of the initiative (i.e. improvements in key metrics, customer feedback, staff or contractor engagement)
  • Photos showcasing the initiative
  • How this initiative could assist other businesses
  • A current photo of the business or a copy of the business’ logo

A nomination form is available for this award however nominations do not need to be on this form as long as the criteria are met

  • Improved waste management procedures
  • Water reduction or power saving initiatives
  • Use of renewables
  • Guest education programs
  • Partnerships with other local businesses/organisations

 

The prize

The winner of this Award will receive:

  • The 2020 Environmental Award
  • Profile in an upcoming edition of the Parkies Post
  • News Story on the Environmental Initiative and your business on the Members Portal of the Caravanning Queensland and In News eNewsletter
  • A story about the business on the Caravanning Queensland consumer site
  • A complimentary 1/12th page advert in the 2021 edition of the Queensland Caravan Parks & Touring Accommodation Directory

 

Conditions of entry

The nomination must be for a current financial park member of Caravan Parks Association of Queensland.

Contractors of current financial members of Caravan Parks Association of Queensland are not eligible.

The environmental initiative must have been introduced in the 24 months leading up the Awards Dinner.

Nominations must be received no later than midnight on 15 March 2020.
