Business Improvement

Why customers can’t stop raving about us

As guest expectations continue to rise, how do you ensure that your guests leave your park with a smile and the desire to recommend you to someone else?

While most parks do an outstanding job of providing a great experience in their park there are some that have developed a culture of providing an exceptional guest experience which leaves guests raving about them.

Hear from a leading tourism business on what they do differently in their business.

Creating Sustainable Growth

When Adam Twist joined the caravanning industry in 2013 he was quickly hooked as he discovered the diversity of the industry and the potential of the small family business he had become a part of.

In his second year, he saw the retail side of the business double its turnover. Fast forward to 2018 and Adam is now the General Manager of Suncoast Caravan Service, a business that turned over in one month, the same amount that it had turned over in his first year with the company.

In 2019 Adam Twist was a finalist in the Caravan Industry Association of Australia’s Future Leaders Award and the recipient of the Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Queensland’s Young Achiever of the Year Award.

Adam has a holistic view of the industry and maintains very close ties with a number of caravan parks, including participating in numerous fundraising activities through the Sunshine Coast caravan parks.

With such strong growth within his own business we have invited Adam to speak about Creating Sustainable Growth.

Reinvestment for the Right Results

Reinvestment is key in building your business. But is reinvestment all it takes to grow your business?

We have invited a Queensland Caravan Park that has invested heavily in their business over the past few years and is seeing some outstanding results.

Watch this space for more information.

The Magic of Getting Team Culture Right

When the team culture of an organisation is right everything else just seems to run a little more smoothly.

Following a significant change in culture within the Gold Coast Tourist Parks group, Adam Spencer, Commercial and Business Development Coordinator with Gold Coast Tourist Parks (a division of City of Gold Coast) will share the lessons they have learnt about team culture and how to get it right.

Adam is also an accomplished magician and will use his magic skills to help demonstrate the Magic of Team Culture.

Still an Industry Leader, 130 years on

The Distillery was born in 1888, when seven Bundaberg locals decided with a stroke of genius to take the by-product from the growing sugar industry and open up a rum distillery.  It was their ingenuity and determination that has gone on to define the character of the Bundaberg Rum Distillery and everyone who works there til this day.

Though not without its trials; multiple fires and floods forced the Distillery to close and rebuild, but with grit and unfailing optimism it came back stronger than ever.

In 2019, Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience took home Gold in the Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries category at both the Australian and the Queensland Tourism Awards, highlighting how a business can continue to be an industry leader after over 130 years!

We have invited Bundaberg Rum Visitor Experience Manager, Duncan Littler, to tell us more about the Bundy Rum story.

Best of Queensland Experiences is an innovative program that guides the Queensland tourism industry to deliver exceptional customer experiences, create positive word of mouth, help attract more visitors, grow expenditure and increase market share. The program identifies and recognises experiences that best bring the Queensland story to life and consistently deliver a high-quality visitor experience.  Based on an independent set of criteria that incorporates online customer reviews, the program responds to consumer expectations and reflects industry best practice.

Cyber security is a significant concern for most businesses and a cyber security incident that impacts a small business can be devastating.

Luckily, cyber security doesn’t have to be difficult. There are simple measures that if understood and implemented, can significantly avoid, or reduce the impact of, the most common cyber security incidents.

Hear about the potential impacts of a cyber security breach and some measures you can take to protect your business.

What happens when you have to evacuate your park?

This summer there has been an unprecedented level of park evacuations with fires in multiple states.  The situation in many of these locations saw park owners left with the tough decision about when they should evacuate their park, as well as ensuring they kept current and future guests informed about the situation.

To tell us about the lessons they learnt over summer with the evacuation of three of their parks we have Chief Operating Officer from NRMA Parks and Resorts, Matt Bruckner.
