Two hours' drive south-west of Brisbane and you're through Cunningham's Gap and out under the wide skies of the Southern Downs and Granite Belt - the high country, where people know that the good things of life should not be rushed.
From the southern states, the Newell and New England Highways lead directly into our unique region along the border of Queensland and New South Wales.
You'll be at an elevation where autumn leaves change colour, there's a chance of a snowfall in winter, wildflowers blaze in spring, and the cool summer days make for comfortable bushwalking in national parks.
Whilst here you can choose to visit rainforests, waterfalls, historic and heritages sites, go fishing, bushwalking, boating or visit one of the many award winning wineries in Queensland's premier wine region.
You can also choose to meet and play with the locals at one of the many golf, bowls, social clubs or attend one of the exciting events throughout the year, which include motor racing, horse sports, rodeo, food and wine and many other cultural activities, including the annual Jumpers & Jazz in July festival in Warwick and biennial Apple & Grape Harvest Festival in Stanthorpe.
